Who is Andrew Nachman, founder and CEO of Nachman Consulting?

Andrew is a '97 graduate of the University of Notre Dame with a Bachelor of Business Administration, Finance and Business Economics, Magna Cum Laude Graduate.  After graduating, Andrew worked for Coopers & Lybrand, LLP out of San Francisco as a Financial Analyst and Financial Advisory Services. He then accepted a position with a high-tech startup in Los Gatos, CA as their Senior Business Development Analyst.  From the Bay Area, Andy heard his outdoor adventure spirit calling and moved to Idaho where he now runs his own adventure travel business.

Over time, Andrew has done the following projects:

  • Develop strategy and secured partners to fund a billion dollar 50-city deployment of wireless data network.
  • Part of two-man transaction team that secured $600M in equity financing from MCIWorldcom and Paul Allen’s Vulcan Ventures and $375M guaranteed revenue contract from MCIWorldcom
  • Create business plan and financial forecasts and present to key executives at major telecommunications and technology companies
  • Manage all aspects of long-range financial planning and forecasting, including setting all pricing strategies for the company’s products and services.
  • Negotiated a higher price for the company’s services on the last day of negotiations, leading to a potential $35M gain on revenue contract.
  • Enabled company to finance the launch of a nationwide wireless internet service.
  • As a direct result of my work in securing a partnership deal, company’s stock price rose from $4 per share to $100 per share in less than 1 year.

The combination of working for consulting firms, managing several high-tech projects, and now owning his own small business for over 10 years has given Andy a vary diverse background to understand both the complex and the simple business environments and business owners' needs.

2000 to NORTHWEST VOYAGEURS, LLC – Pollock, ID Present President -

  • Operations – Manage all operational aspects of international adventure travel company featuring 30 different itineraries.
  • Manage all aspects of a 12 room guest lodge.
  • Sales & Marketing – Develop marketing strategies and advertising campaigns; promote sales through customer interaction and active participation in sales process. Define target market and develop new customer base. Designed and maintained several high-end travel websites.
  • Business Development – Manage all partner relationships; develop new strategic partnerships with university alumni associations, travel agents, outfitter partners etc.
  • Finance – All accounting and budgeting activities; fund-raising, business plan development; inventory, A/P, A/R and all tracking and reporting of accounts. Develop business model and long-range financial forecasts. Report performance to members of LLC.
  • Human Resources – Manage a staff of 10-20 seasonal employees and run entrepreneurial internship program. All hiring and firing responsibility. Accomplishments
  • Developed adventure travel segment of alumni travel market and established dominance in the niche. We now work with over 20 major institutions throughout the nation providing adventure programs to their alumni associations.
  • Grew company from $200k to $700k in revenues during two significant travel industry downturns
  • Served over 8,000 whitewater customers without a major injury.
  • Raised $400,000 in equity in two rounds of financing
